Urban Halo exists to unlock economic independence for Black entrepreneur women through skills bartering and community connection.
The Mission
Black women are among the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs in the United States. They launch businesses at extraordinary rates. They build with limited capital, limited networks, and limited access to professional services that white-collar entrepreneurs take for granted.
Urban Halo is the correction. We built a private, curated circle where brilliant women trade what they're actually brilliant at — without money changing hands between members.
Your design skill is your currency. Your coaching practice is your currency. Your photography, your copywriting, your financial expertise — all currency. All tradable. All respected at full market value.

money that changes hands between members. Ever. That's the policy. That's the promise.
"The economy was never designed for us to win inside it. So we built a different economy — one where our skills are the only admission ticket required."
— Urban Halo Founding Principle
The Origin
Every Black woman entrepreneur has had the same experience. She needs a logo. A website. Brand photos. A coach. But the market prices are designed for companies with investors and credit lines — not solo founders bootstrapping on faith and late nights.
So she either underpays for work that doesn't reflect her brand, or she goes without. Her business looks smaller than it is. She grows slower than she should.
"What if we just traded? What if your design work for my coaching sessions — and nobody paid a thing?" That conversation is where Urban Halo was born.
We didn't invent bartering. Bartering is ancient. What we built is the infrastructure to do it at scale, with trust, with contracts, with community accountability, and with the specific intention of keeping wealth circulating inside Black-owned businesses.
When a member gets brand photography without paying market rate, she reinvests that savings into her business. Her photographer builds her reputation. Both businesses grow. No dollar leaves the community. That's the model.
Core Beliefs
These aren't values on a poster. They're the principles that shape every policy, every decision, every line of code.
Your expertise isn't a service you sell cheaply. It's a form of capital that should compound. Inside Urban Halo, your skill has full market value — every trade recognizes it as such.
Isolation is how wealth leaves communities. Intentional connection is how it stays and grows. We build the connection infrastructure. You build the wealth.
Not every application is accepted. This isn't gatekeeping for status. It's curation for safety. Every member inside this circle has been vetted. You can trade with confidence.
The barter-only policy is our most sacred rule. It levels the playing field. It removes negotiation anxiety. It keeps the energy clean. No member should ever feel financially exploited by another.
We didn't build a marketplace and add community as a bonus. We built a community and added a marketplace as infrastructure. The difference shows in every interaction.
Love without standards is chaos. We have guidelines, reputation systems, and mediation processes because the circle only works if every member shows up fully. Being in this community is a commitment.
Who This Is For
Urban Halo is not for everyone. It is built specifically for Black women and women of color who are building businesses and are serious about growing through community.
Our Promise
We will never allow money to corrupt the relationships inside this circle. We will never allow your skills to be devalued. We will never compromise the safety, privacy, or dignity of any member. And we will always build the infrastructure your brilliance deserves.
